So Blackberry is not going down without a fight, since it has been in the news recently for not the right reasons. But for its competition with apple iPhone and android, a once-dominating Smartphone manufacturer has seen its stock sink in past recent years. Could this e the return of Blackberry with its newly launched Smartphone Z10?

So we at SL we went out to search the Lowdown on the Blackberry Z10

KEYBOARD
On screen BlackBerry Keyboard (portrait/landscape), featuring contextual auto-correction, next-word prediction, and a personalized learning engine that gets to know the way you type
The excellent messaging centre is complemented by the Z10's impressive keyboard. The accurate and responsive touch screen makes it easy to hit the right key, and there's no discernible lag between pressing a key and the phone responding. It's one of the best keyboards we've used so far.
SCREEN
The handset completed the Sun spider JavaScript benchmark in 1,724ms, which is around average. It certainly didn’t have any problems rendering web pages quickly, but we noticed an occasional stutter when zoomed in and panning around pages as the browser rendered images.
The Z10 has a 1,280x768-pixel screen, which is unusual compared to the 1,280x720-pixel displays we're used to seeing among Android Smartphone.
HOME SCREEN
Shows your currently-running apps as a series of cards, Palm OS-styleBlackBerry 10 also has a standard app tray containing several screens of icons, which you can rearrange by long-pressing and dragging apps to where you want them.
NON-SLIP RUBBER BACK
Is a winner however, it feels like it would survive plenty of abuse. There's no flex at all in the body, and the rubber rear means you're unlikely to drop it.

on the hand...
SAMSUNG GALAXY S4
We couldn’t get a chance to play with the Galaxy S4 so far, we went online and get some reviews for you. Early indications are that this is going to be a superb handset. S4 faces tough competition from its Android rivals and whatever Apple plans to release so far, but interest and demand for the phone remain high. As soon as we have our hands on a finished model, we'll bring you an up-to-date review.

S4
After months of speculation, the Samsung Galaxy S4 has finally been unveiled. With a larger screen, faster process and range of new features, it's the company's new flagship smartphone.
As such, it's got more power and more up-to-date features than the iPhone 5 and pre-empts the upcoming iPhone 5S. We are giving the lowdown on the phone and help us find out if it matches up to the hype.

SIZE

Galaxy S4 looks similar to the Samsung Galaxy S3, and it’s built on that phone's looks. The Galaxy S4 is a little bigger, thanks to its 4.99in screen, but not as much as you might think: at 136.6x69.8x7.9mm, it's roughly as wide as the S3, but around 5mm longer, and around 1mm slimmer. The result is the Galaxy S4 feels good in the hand and every bit as comfortable to hold as the S3. There are a few notable changes between the phones' designs, including a metallic banding running around the edge of the Galaxy S4.

Backside-illuminated (BSI)

It has a Backside-illuminated (BSI) sensor for better low-light sensitivity; the camera has been upgraded to a 13-megapixel model although there's also a flash for when it's really dark.

 SCREEN
The 4.99in Super AMOLED display is gorgeous. It has a Full HD, 1,920x1, 080 resolutions with a high pixel density of 441ppi. What's important is that everything looks pin-sharp and there's no danger of spotting individual pixels.

It’s worth noting that you can't directly compare the Galaxy S4 to LCD-based Full HD handsets, this is because Samsung continues to use a Super AMOLED display with a PenTile pixel arrangement.

 STORAGE
S4 will be available in versions with 16GB, 32GB and 64GB of storage, although it's expandable by up to 64GB via the microSD card slot. Prices for the models haven't been announced yet, but it may well work out much better value to buy the 16B or 32GB models, and then upgrade storage as and when you need it
