Stasie Lowdown is an online portal aimed at bringing news and information from Acornhoek and surrounding areas as they happen, and when they happen.

Stasie Lowdown, is slang for Acornhoek Update. The word "Stasie" is an Afrikaans word for Station, and most people who are familiar with the origins of the small town will tell you that Acornhoek was refered to as"The Station" as it was one of the biggest railway stations in the Bushbuckridge region. As years went by and the use of slang grew, youngsters refered to "The Station" as it was affectionately known to "Stasie", hence the naming.
